It appears that Fine Gael has now finalised its election candidate line up for Clare with three names on the ticket.
There was widespread speculation that the party would add a fourth person to contest the four seat constituency with East Clare Councillor Joe Cooney being mooted for the spot.
However a spokesperson for Fine Gael says the team of Pat Breen, Joe Carey and Tony Mulcahy was finalised by a meeting of the party’s executive council last night and that they would be making no additions.
But party leader Enda Kenny could still add another candidate at a later date if he so wishes.
