Clare has seen a significant rise in the number of fires recorded here this year.
The Clare fire service recorded a 37% increase in call-outs up to the end of August, with much of this attributed to an increased level of forest and bog fires, as well as a rise in chimney fires.
The statistics have been released to coincide with National Fire Safety Week, which begins today and is encouraging homeowners to ensure they have working smoke alarms installed.
