Farmers in Clare are being encouraged to take part in free recycling days across the country as the first of eleven events takes place in Sixmilebridge today.
Last year 1,700 tonnes of waste farm plastics collected in Clare while a further 700 tonnes of old waste electrical and electronic equipment was recycled.
Farmers will be able to deposit their household waste electrical and electronic equipment and waste batteries, at the same time as they deposit their waste farm plastics.
