Six candidates from the Shannon Local Electoral Area take part in the first of two debates focusing on the municipal district this morning.
Three sitting councillors, a former Senator and two newcomers will be discussing the issues of antisocial behaviour and housing For workers in the region, in the hope of securing one of seven seats in the municipal district.
Two candidates indicated they were unable to attend the debates.
Recorded in the Council Chamber at Áras Contae an Cháir, the debates will air on Clare FM’s Morning Focus from 9am, with candidates setting out their stalls ahead of polling day on June 7th.
The remaining candidates in the Shannon and Killaloe areas will take part in one of two debates on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
