Over five million euro in compensation was paid out through the Injuries Board to Clare recipients in 2011.
New figures show there were 224 successful claimants in the county last year – up from 177 in 2010 when 3.7 million euro in payments were made.

The board, which has been in existence for eight years deals with claims involving motor accidents, accidents at work and accidents in a public place.
