Efforts to prevent a repeat of the 2009 flooding which devestated parts of Ennis are being stepped up.
Contracts to carry out flood relief works in the Watery Road/Elm Park Area of Clare’s County Town were signed this week between the council and contruction company Ward & Burke.
Work on the 307 thousand euro project- which is mainly funded by the OPW- is due to start at the end of this month, subject to river levels in The Fergus.
