Focus Ireland says many landlords are acting in a completely illegal way by continuing to refuse rent supplement from tenants.
The agency has welcomed today's warning from the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission – that anyone who discriminates against those in receipt of housing supports – could face a fine of up to 15,000 euro.
The new law came into effect on the 1st of January.
