The Food Safety Authority served a closure order on a premises in Ennis last month due to a presence of rodent droppings throughout a food storage area.
O’Briens Gala on the Cloughleigh Road was ordered to close it’s external food store room following an inspection by environmental health officers in the HSE on January 12th.

The inspection team noted that rodent droppings were present on both high and low level shelving, adjacent to food contact materials and beverages.
The HSE stated that as a result there was likely to be a grave and immediate danger to public health as well as a serious risk of contamination to food staff.
The order was lifted on January 24th, after steps were taken to address the matter.
