The government has been accused of ‘robbing’ the Mid West by pressing ahead with plans to remove the profitable Aer Rianta International from Shannon Airport after it is removed from the DAA.
The government is expected to announce further details of its plans for an independent Shannon, after discussing the matter at today’s cabinet meeting.
It’s expected the airport will be set up on a debt-free basis, but duty free business A.R.I. will remain within the Dublin Airport Authority.
