Gardaí in Clare will continue to question four people this morning on suspicion of dissident republican activity.
The three men and a woman were detained during a number of searches in the during searches in the East Clare, Shannon and Ennis areas yesterday morning.
Several items including paramilitary style clothing and laptops were also reportedly seized during the raids.
A garda source told Clare FM that the suspects – aged from their early 20’s to late 50’s are being held on suspicion of being part of the so-called Real IRA.
They’ve been questioned at Ennis, Shannon, Killaloe and Ennistymon Garda Stations under section 30 of the offences against the state act and are expected to be charged or released later today.
