The Friends of Ennis Hospital Group insists the majority of the blame for UHL’s overcrowding crisis shouldn’t be levelled at the Health Minister.

One week on from the indefinite deferral of scheduled care at University Hospital Limerick, Ennis Hospital and other Midwest hospitals, Minister Stephen Donnelly has said it’ll be a “short number of weeks” before services return to normal.

In light of the deferral, the Friends of Ennis Hospital Group has reiterated its request for UL Hospitals Group CEO Colette Cowan to appear before the Oireachtas Health Committee to address concerns around the Dooradoyle facility’s governance and management.

Group chairperson and former Public Relations Officer for the Fianna Fáil Comhairle Ceantair in Ennis Angela Coll believes Minister Donnelly has done more than his fair share to improve healthcare in the Midwest.
