Further decline in Shannon Airport traffic

Shannon Airport showed the biggest decline in traffic of the 3 state airports last month.

The Irish Aviation Authority has revealed that the number of commercial terminal flights at Clare’s international airport was down by 4.7% in the month of August, with an average of 56 daily movements.

In contrast, flight levels at Cork were down 1.7% though Dublin saw a 2.7% increase in such traffic.

On a cumulative basis, commercial terminal traffic for Shannon, Dublin and Cork airports so far this year is down 1.4% compared to the same period in 2011
