Gardaí are appealing for information following an assault on an older male in his home in West Clare.
At approximately 9:45am, two men, dressed as workers, knocked on the door of a residential property in Emlagh near Quilty.
The men forced their way into the house and searched the property.
The occupant of the residence, a male in his 80s, was assaulted during this incident.
He received treatment for minor injuries at the scene from responding ambulance personnel.
The culprits made their escape in a vehicle and Garda Eilis O’Keefe from Clare’s Crime Prevention Office is urging anyone that may have been driving in the area with dash-cam footage or households with CCTV footage in the area to contact them.
