Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation has been launched into a scam related to the booking of accomodation in Ennis during Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann.
Clare FM understands that at least three people have lost money after they booked a house to stay in during the festival, having seen it advertised online.
However, these ads turned out to be fake, posted by scammers looking to exploit the large crowds coming to Clare this week.
A post on social media says one of the victims lost one thousand euro.
