Gardaí Blame Scheduling Issues For GoSafe No Shows At Clare Courts

Gardaí have suggested that scheduling difficulties are to blame for the no-show of GoSafe officials at some court sittings in Clare.

Local District Court Judge Patrick Durcan has been critical of the company which operates the speed van network, and has previously claimed that the “entire system was being brought into disrespect” when he dismissed prosecutions.

However, the firm has attended other court sittings locally, including in Killaloe this week.

The Garda has written to Clare County Council, after the local authority raised concerns about the matter, to say scheduling issues have required operators to be at two court sittings on the same day.
