Gardaí Confirm Investigation Into Death Of Clare Teen

Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation is underway into the tragic death of a 13-year-old schoolboy from East Clare.

Conor Wilmot, was found lying in a field near his home in Oatfield, Sixmilebridge on Thursday night.

Newpaper reports had suggested that the teenager had been the victim of school bullies, but a senior Garda Source has told Clare FM that they have established no connection to bullying.

Gardaí are carrying out a technical examination of Conor’s phone and computer to establish the events leading up to his death.

Sixmilebridge Councillor PJ Ryan, who has known Conor’s family for some time says “the entire community is “devastated”.

Gardaí at Henry Street in Limerick are investigating and are appealing to anyone with infomation to contact them on 061 212 400 or any Garda Station.
