The Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Public Expenditure Minister Brendan Howin
said the decision averts what would otherwise have been a crisis for Ireland and the EU.
However the delay in reaching the decision means that a deal on Ireland’s banking debt is likely to be put back a few weeks.
Public Expenditure Minister Brendan Howlin is confident a deal can still be done in the coming weeks.
