The Government is being called on to allocate additional funding towards supports for the elderly and those suffering from a disability in Clare.

Clare County Council says 481 people were waiting for Housing Adaptation Grants for people with a disability, Housing Aid for Older Poeple and Mobility Aid grants, at the end of last year.
3.1 million euro would see these waiting lists cleared and allow those concerned a better quality of life.
Spanish Point Councillor Michael Hillary says some people are waiting up to two years for their grants to come through and he fears the situation will worsen over the coming months.
