Deputies Pat Breen and Joe Carey have issued a joint statement, stating that they have received confirmation from James Reilly that no final decision has been taken with regards to the county hospital.

The HSE had previously told Clare FM that functions at Ennis General will change in line with national clinical programs, though it insisted no date had been set for this to occur.

The Minister says the hospital’s fate will become clear after the publication of the Small Hospitals Framework Document, which Deputy Pat Breen admits will occur in the near future, though he’s confident it will serve as a key boost.
