Government urged to intervene in Aer Lingus row

 

The government is being  urged to intervene in the Aer Lingus Row before it escalates even further.

34 flights have been cancelled today from Dublin to the UK and continental Europe, affecting 2-thousand 700 people.

Up until late yesterday evening, 82 cabin crew staff had been removed from their duties and the Aer Lingus payroll for refusing to co-operate with the new system.

Speaking in the Dáil last evening, Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen told the Transport Minister that the time has come for him to intervene, because the aviation industry cannot afford any more setbacks.

He wants Noel Dempsey to appoint a mediator to end the row
