The government has approved almost half a million euro in funding for two community projects in Clare.

The Department of the Environment has formally signed off on almost 182 thousand euro in funding for Clare camogie, allowing for the development of their new facility, Fr. McNamara Park in Doora.

Meanwhile, 300 thousand euro is to be forwarded to part-fund refurbishment works at the village hall of Corofin in the North of the county.

Both projects are receiving monies from the Leader Rural Development Scheme, having been assisted by Clare Local Development Company.

Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has congratulated the beneficiaries.
