68 On Trolleys At University Hospital Limerick

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise once again as the week begins.

The latest INMO figures show 68 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 36 of those in the emergency department alone.

The overall figures is 25 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 353 patients were left waiting on trolleys across the country.

On one day last week the Dooradoyle facility witnessed a record-breaking 82 patients on trolleys.
