Met Eireann has issued a weather warning as gale force winds and heavy downpours are expected to batter Clare.
Wind speeds will reach up to 110 kilometres per hour today – with western coastal counties worst effected.
Spot flooding is also forecast in parts with a national warning in effect – but the showers and winds are expected to ease by 11 o’clock tonight.
