Opening hours at one of Clare’s most popular tourist attractions are to be extended as a result of public demand.
More than 6,500 people have visited Loop Head Lighthouse since the beginning of June, a quarter of them from overseas.
To cope with the crowds, the lighthouse will now open for an extra two hours to 7:30 each evening, from tomorrow to August 25th.
Loop Head Lighthouse first opened it’s doors to tourists two years ago, and has counted An Taoiseach Enda Kenny among it’s visitors in that time.
