A unique project, which will combine a women’s shed with a digital learning hub is due to open in Clare in the new year.
Mná ag Gaire was set up during lockdown one, in response to a shortage of PPE and saw 50 women across the county producing protective equipment from their homes, which was later distributed to nursing homes.
Now the group has doubled in size and the decision was taken to bring an outlet for women who feel isolated, as well as training hub on stream in Ennis for those who are experiencing inequalities through lack of access to technology.
A fundraising quiz is taking place on the Mná ag Gáire Facebook page on Saturday night and CEO Hillary Tonge says any funds raised will make a huge difference to the women using the service.
