On this day last year, Sixteen Year-Old Aoife Johnston passed away from bacterial meningitis, after waiting over twelve hours on a trolley at UHL’s Emergency Department.

After considering an external review commissioned by the UL Hospitals Group on the matter, HSE CEO Bernard Gloster has now ordered a formal investigation to be carried out by former Supreme Court Chief Justice Frank Clarke.
