The Minister for Social Protection has reinstated the Hot Meals programme at an Ennistymon Secondary school.

In September, the amalgamation of Scoil Mhuire, Meánscoil na mBráithre CBS, and Ennistymon Vocational School resulted in only one-third of the pupils being eligible for the  scheme.

Independent TD Violet-Anne Wynne raised the issue in the Dail this week as the vocational school no longer holds DEIS status since joining the amalgamation.

Responding to the query from the Kilrush Deputy, Minister of State at the Department of Justice, James Browne, confirmed the North Clare school will receive hot meals until the end of the year.
