A major housing boost is in the pipeline for South-East Clare.

Datcha Construction LTD is planning to expand the Lios Anama Estate in Sixmilebridge.

The new development would consist of 31 residential units, made up of 1x four-bed house, 12x three-bed homes and 18x two-bed houses.

There is a planned variety of semi-detached, detached and terraced housing, while two of the homes will be Universally Designed, meaning they will be age and disability friendly.

The local authority and the architect in this case Mr Arnold Leahy have also reached an agreement in principle under Part V planning obligations, whereby between 10% and 20% of the land must be used for either social or affordable housing.

According to a housing quality assessment submitted as part of the application, six homes are being considered for Part V use, involving 5x two-bed and 1x three-bed properties.

The plans also include provision for 31 bicycle spaces, along with 54 car-parking spaces, 10 of which would be ringfenced for visitors.

The adjacent landowners have also consented to the use of their land for Uisce Eireann to reroute a water main.

Clare County Council is accepting public submissions on the proposal until June 19th, with a decision due to be made by July 10th.
