HSE Implored To Re-Evaluate Clinical Advice Against Reopening MidWest A&Es

The MidWest Hospitals Campaign is imploring the HSE to immediately produce any clinical advice which suggests it’s “unsafe” to reopen another Accident & Emergency Unit in the region.

It comes as University Hospital Limerick has broken the national overcrowding record for the second time in two weeks, with the INMO documenting 138 patients on trolleys there yesterday.

The UL Hospitals Group is now reviewing elective activity on a daily basis and has opened surge capacity beds across all of its facilities.

 

Ballyvaughan-based Spokesperson Noeleen Moran insists though that clinical arguments for and against reinstating A&Es in Ennis, Nenagh and St. John’s must be revisited.
