The HSE’s Mid West Area Manager has warned that bed numbers in Saint Joseph’s Hospital would be halved if they implemented all the best practice standards required by HIQUA.
Bernard Gloster was reacting to the latest inspection report by the Health Watchdog which criticised the Health Service Executive for failing to address issues raised over the structure of the Ennis nursing home.
The independent authority found ongoing structural issues impact on the dignity of it’s residents, but it does point to a high and continuious standard of patient care.
