New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show that only seven counties saw a higher number of motorists avail of the scheme
The society says that overall nearly seven-and-a-half thousand cars have been bought under the scheme since it was introduced at the start of this year.
The scrappage scheme has been a welcome boost for Ireland’s motor industry – almost as many cars have been sold in Clare so far this year as in the whole of 2009.
