It’s hoped the Woodstock Hotel which closed its doors on Friday , may reopen in some form in the future.

60 staff face an uncertain future after the premises on the Shanaway Road in Ennis shut with immediate effect.

There has been no official word from the operators – Fort William Catering LTD but a creditors meeting is scheduled to take place later this month.

It’s the second time the hotel has been forced to shut-down – In October 2008 it closed due to the demise of the Dunne Group but reopened in early 2009 under new management.

President of the Irish Hotels Federation and Lahinch Hotelier Michael Vaughan says any reopening again would require a business model rethink .
