It’s reported that draft legislation on abortion always contained plans for six doctors to approve a termination.

The Irish Independent has claimed to have seen the document – and says it makes a number of references to plans for two sets of three doctors.

Earlier this week, the Health Minister James Reilly denied that the new law would require six doctors to interview a pregnant woman to determine if she is at risk of suicide.

But Political Editor with the Irish Independent Fionnan Sheehan says Minister Reilly failed to clarify if there would be six doctors involved in evaluating the case.
