A major Shannon employer says it’s “still working through plans” for its base in this county.
It comes amid reports that Intel is closing its Research and Development Facility in Shannon, with its 750 employees to either be offered redundancies or new roles in Leixlip.
In a statement to Clare FM, the company stopped short of confirming the facility’s closure but said it’s “shifting (its) global retail strategy to focus on fewer more population locations”.

The statement continues “we are still working through plans for each business unit, some employees may transition to different locations or move to remote work arrangements”.
