A special flag raising ceremony has taken place at Dublin Castle today, before Ireland assumes the EU presidency tomorrow.
Its the seventh time that Ireland will take up the presidency.

Earlier today, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Lucinda Creighton, said top of the agenda during the term would be to get a deal on the Anglo promissory note.
The Taoiseach also spoke of new hope and a new confidence across Europe.
