Ireland South-MEP Hailing Shannon Estuary Power Plant Development As A ‘Game Changer’ For The MidWest

An MEP for this region is hailing the development of gas power plants on the Shannon Estuary as a major ‘game changer’ for the Midwest Region.

Shannon LNG have been awarded provisional contracts by Eirgrid for the installation of two gas fired generators on the same site as the controversial Liquified Natural Gas project at Ballylongford.

It is expected the generators will supply 353 megawatts of electricity to the national grid when construction is completed in 2027.
