Irish rail look to boost traffic on Western corridor

Iarnrod Eireann is aiming to boost traffic on the Western Rail Corridor by unveiling a raft of new measures.

Free car parking is to be offered at stations in Gort, Ardrahan and Craghwell, free wireless internet is to be offered on some services and new student commuter tickets will be offered.

The moves are to be implemented after what officials have described as ‘successful summer tourist season’ but here in Clare, local representatives say more work is required.
