Irish Water is to carry out a major upgrade of the water mains in Ennistymon, to bring the network there up to standard.
The eight-week project, which is to begin next week, will see the existing ageing pipes there replaced to prevent against further bursts and leaks in the area.

It will also facilitate a separate project to overlay local roads ahead of the Irish Open golf tournament in July.
