A West Clare councillor says ongoing renovations will be crucial for the longevity of Kilkee Waterworld.
It comes as Clare County Council has granted planning permission to the swimming pool facility for a 69 kWp (kilowatt ‘peak) Solar PV array under five conditions.
The park has been closed to the public since September 2022 but Councillor Cillian Murphy believes these renovations will allow Waterworld to stay open for up to nine months per year.
The Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor says the project is still on target to reopen this May.
