Six people and their dog were rescued from a sinking cruise boat after it collided with a bridge in Killaloe.
The alarm was raised shortly after four yesterday afternoon and members of Irish Coastguard based in East Clare were on the scene quickly.
The cruiser which was damaged in the collision had started to take on water and the boat was quickly evacuated with those on board brought to a mooring on the Ballina side of the river.
No body was injured in the incident.
