The 4.2 acre site has been closed-off for a number of years after the school moved to a new site on the Kilrush Road.

The Killaloe Disocesan Trust has offered the site for sale by public tender with an advised minimum value of 1.2 million euro, despite a deposit being paid for the site by a developer in 2015.

Woodhaven Developments Ltd was in the process of securing planning permission to demolish the old school building, with the consent of the diocese, but the diocese didn't sign the contracts after the deposit was paid.

It's reported that developer Larry Brennan feels "extremely let down" by the proposed sale and says he has no further interest in aquiring the property.

The tender closing date is May 6th.
