Kilrush Celebrates Third Year Of One Tree Per Child Project

Kilrush is kicking off the third year of its One Tree Per Child project today.

The West Clare town is the only part of Ireland to be participating in the global phenomenon, which began in Australia and has seen a quarter of a million trees planted so far.

Every year, junior infant pupils enrolled in the town’s schools each plant a new tree at the Active Kilrush Sports Complex, where the aim is to create a woodland to be there for generations to come.
