Women in the West of Ireland are the most likely to accept invitations for free cancer screening.
The 2011-2012 Annual Report from Breastcheck shows that over 34,000 women in the HSE West Area, including County Clare, were screened in 2011.
254 were subsequently diagnosed with cancer.
The Breastcheck program began in 2000, but has only been available in the MidWest since 2009.
