Today marks the last chance for people to register their septic tanks for the cheaper rate of five euro.
Under law, people have to register their tanks for inspections by February 1st next year, but the charge to do this increases to fifty euro after today.
Latest figures show that around 3500 Clare homeowners have signed up so far, the seventh highest figure nationally.
However, it’s believed that over 17 thuosand others who are required to follow the law have yet to do so.
