The Land Development Agency is set to conduct a new review of state owned sites in Clare that could be acquired for affordable and social housing use.

The LDA’s remit is to maximise the development of scheme housing in urban areas with populations of 10,000 and above.

In the state sponsored body’s most recent report last year, no greenfield or brownfield sites in this county were analysed for potential use.

Following a meeting with LDA CEO John Coleman, Kilrush Independent Deputy Violet Anne Wynne says she has received assurances that the upcoming audit will include Ennis and Shannon.
