The Manager of Lisdoonvarna Fáilte feels the numbers withdrawing offers of accommodation for Ukrainian refugees are doing so because of miscommunication.

The community group is co-ordinating the response to the influx of refugees in North Clare, and say they are concerned at a predicted shortfall of around 8,000 places for those fleeing the war-torn country.

The Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien is to bring a number of options to Cabinet tomorrow on how the country plans to continue to accommodate refugees on a medium to long-term basis.

Jacqueline McCoy from Lisdoonvarna Fáilte feels if clarity was given to people about what’s involved in hosting a family that the numbers willing to help would increase again.
