A Lissycasey woman has thanked her neighbour and the paramedics who helped her with a very special delivery.

Cathy Burke gave birth to baby Alex in her neighbour Christy Coote’s house at the weekend after she went into labour two weeks ahead of schedule.

She couldn’t make it to the hospital so gave birth there and then, with the help of paramedics who were on the scene, and to whom Cathy says she is eternally grateful.

Baby Alex is still being looked after at the Maternity Hospital in Limerick, and his proud mum Cathy told Clare FM he’s doing well.
