An Ennis-native priest, who was a priest in the Diocese of Killaloe for over 50 years, has died.

75-year-old Fr. Tony Cahir was educated at St. Flannan's College and ordained in March of 1963.
Thoughout his time in the Priesthood he was given a number of appointments outside of Ireland, though for a time in the 1960s he was appointed to St. Flannan's.
He also served as a parish priest in Crusheen for five years from 1994, and later as the parish priest of Birr in Co. Offaly.
He passed away at Dublin's Beacon Hospital yesterday, and will be laid to rest in Birr following funeral mass on Sunday.
