It’s hoped the opening of the Loop Head Lighthouse to tourists can boost the tourist trade throughout west Clare.
From this morning, tourists and locals will have the chance to take a birds eye look at the West Clare coastline, as the lighthouse is opened up to the public for the first time in it’s 341 year history.
The lighthouse is to be opened for an initial six week trial period but local councillor Gabriel Keating is hopeful it will be a success that benefits the wider region.
