LRC Hearing Into UL Hospitals Group Dispute

The Labour Relations Commission is to intervene in a dispute which has led to a work-to-rule at the MidWest's hospitals, including Ennis General.

The Irish Examiner reports that the LRC is to hold a hearing next week, after 500 staff in the UL Hospitals group began industrial action this week.

They overwhelmingly balloted in favour of the move in protest at the 250 thousand euro salary given to the group's Chief Operations Officer, a figure – which is in excess of the public pay cap.

However, IMPACT, which represents the workers concerned, says the action is continuing.
